A bit more of my story…
I’ll be the first to say that the work I do and the message I preach is much easier said than done. We are biologically designed to survive, and our nervous systems inherently register conflict as a threat to our well-being.
I’ve spent many years of my life in survival mode. I’ve been removed from communities, slandered by close friends and family, and encountered many difficult conversations starting at a young age from others who have found my life experiences offensive and hard to believe.
I’ve seen miracles with my own eyes, maneuvered an immense faith transition, and made unconventional decisions others called “crazy”. I’ve navigated through conversations filled with lies and rejection, sometimes communicating with the goal to reconcile, and sometimes the goal being to clear my name.
This led to years of experiencing many different cultures, belief systems, and values in hopes of finding a place of acceptance.
Some of the experiences I had in these communities became so severe that I could no longer handle it on my own, and when I was 17 years old, I participated in a mediation to resolve the heavy conflict.
Mediation: the process by which a mediator tries to end a disagreement by helping the two sides talk and agree on a solution.
This event opened my mind to the power of conversation and building resilient communities.
So again, the message in my coaching is not easy by any means. It might be some of the hardest internal work you’ll ever do— I know firsthand. But giving you hope of what life can look like when you feel confident in standing up for yourself, efficient in your conflict resolution skills, and have a developed sense of belonging in your church, workplace, or family is genuinely what gets me up in the morning.
I am passionate because I understand how it feels to be overwhelmed, isolated, and constantly questioning yourself.
Nowadays, I am still learning everything I can about how to have healthy conflict and healthy communities. There is so much work left to be done in how we address problems and guard our peace in relationships, in communities, and worldwide. I am truly excited to see how the Father continues to use me!
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” - Matthew 5:16
